The Course
The course is extremely varied, with many holes having been cut through pine tree plantations. It offers a complete range of natural hazards from streams, turf banks to gorse.
The longest hole is the par 5 seventh but perhaps the most daunting is the par four dog-leg right eleventh. This hole demands a long and accurate tee shot over a long carry of gorse bushes, to set up a mid-iron second to the green.
The fourth hole is also a favourite with the members, as the stream comes into play with the approach shot to this tricky green.
The greens at Peel are always an excellent element of the course and it requires a certain degree of course management to plot a good score. However, the stunning views from the course and the facilities on offer when you reach the clubhouse make any round of golf here pleasurable.
The Clubhouse
The year 1977 was described as "one of the most momentous in the history of the club" as Peter Alliss opened the sparkling new clubhouse. It marked the completion of the successful development of the club, and was the result of a lot of hardwork by the members over the years.
The Club house is now an ideal setting to relax over a drink and watch players approach the 18th green and set off down the 1st. A full bar menu is also available with a great range of home made food on offer.
